Jika melihat peraturan yang tertera jelas sudah perbedaannya. Siswa yang hanya memilih SATU program studi meskipun jatahnya ada dua (IPA/IPS) dan tiga (IPC) DAPAT MEMILIH PTN DIWILAYAH MANA SAJA.

Sedangkan bagi mereka yang memilih DUA Program Studi HARUS MEMILIH PTN DIWILAYAHNYA UNTUK SALAH SATU PROGRAM STUDI sisanya yang lain dapat memilih di Wilayah manapun.

Artinya jika ada siswa berasal dari Medan yang hanya ingin masuk ITB dengan jurusan tertentu, dapat memilih salah satu prodi di ITB tanpa memilih untuk pilihan kedua.

Jika ternyata ingin memanfaatkan pilihan kedua. Pilihan pertama ITB, pilihan kedua HARUS Universitas yang berada di Wilayah I, seperti USU atau UNILA.

*Aturan ini tidak dicantumkan dalam seleksi SNMPTN Jalur Undangan, namun hendaknya lebih baik hal ini juga dipertimbangkan saat memilih program studi di SNMPTN Jalur Undangan.
